Terms & Conditions.

Somerset Court Cottages offer 5 high quality self-catering cottages in a farm courtyard setting in the village of Wick St Lawrence. (However it is no longer a working farm.)

Peter and Virginia Whitehead are your resident hosts - we live on site in the main farm house at Somerset Court. We will endeavour to do our best to ensure that your stay is a comfortable, enjoyable and memorable experience.

Bookings are secured on the payment of a deposit, representing 30% of the value of the holiday. The balance is to be paid within 6 weeks of the date of your stay.

1. To Book Your Holiday:

a) Please use the on-line availability and booking system on our website, www.somersetcottages.com and select the cottage that you require, your arrival date and departure date. The system will verify the availability and calculate the total price for your stay.
Payment can be made securely on-line by credit or debit card, and the accommodation will then be reserved for you.

If you are booking more than 6 weeks in advance, you will need to pay a 30% deposit at the time of your booking to secure the booking. The booking will be confirmed by e-mail. You will then be sent an e-mail reminder 5 weeks prior to the date of your stay for the payment of the balance.

If you are booking within 6 weeks of the date of your stay you will be prompted for the full payment at the time of booking.

b) Phone us on 01934 521383 (or +44 1934 521383 if you phoning from overseas), or e-mail us at peter@somersetcourtcottages.co.uk, to check the availability. If you then wish to book with us, we can take your credit or debit card details and your booking will then be confirmed as soon as the payment has been processed successfully.

c) If you wish to pay by cheque, please note that the accommodation will only be reserved for you, and the booking confirmed, when we receive your cheque.

2. Arrival and Departure times:
You are welcome to check in after 3pm on the day of your arrival. If you anticipate an arrival time before 3pm, or after 10pm, please call us on 01934 521383 or e-mail us to make arrangements.

Your accommodation is available until 10am on the day of your departure. Please check with us in advance if a later departure is required (for example to meet a flight schedule); we will do our best to help if circumstances permit.

3. Furnishings included;

Each cottage is fully equipped and equipped with:

a) A kitchen, including oven, microwave, fridge, cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery.

b) A shower room, including lavatory and basin. The 3 bedroom cottages also include a Jacuzzi / spa bath.

c)Bedding (pillows, sheet, duvet and duvet cover). However please note that towels are not included as standard, although we can provide them for a small additional charge.

d) A dining area with table and chairs.

e) a Sitting Room area with sofas and / or armchairs, a TV and a DVD player, and a CD player / radio.

4. Cancellations:

Please note that, once a booking has been confirmed, you are liable for the whole cost of the holiday. Deposits are not refundable.

If you need to cancel your booking, we will endeavour to re-let the property and, if successful, we will refund to you the sum recovered, less your deposit. Please inform us as soon as possible of your wish to cancel by telephone, e-mail or in writing.

5. Accommodation Servicing:

Accommodation will be provided in a clean and tidy state on arrival. Should anything be missing or not functioning properly, please let us know as soon as possible.

Guests are responsible for keeping the cottage in a clean and tidy state during the rest of your stay. For stays longer than one week, clean bedlinen will be provided weekly.

Access to the accommodation may be required to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs. This will be done by prior arrangement with you if at all possible.

6. Pets:

We welcome up to 2 well behaved dogs per cottage. There is a charge of £2 per night per dog.

7. Booking Payments:

a) Payment shall be made in Pounds Sterling.
b) There is no charge for payment by Debit Card and Credit Card.
c) Cheques should be made payable to “Somerset Court Cottages Ltd“..

8. Group Bookings:

The guest making the booking payment will be responsible for the accommodation during the stay of a group, and payment of all costs arising during the stay on checking out.

9. Responsibilities of Guests:

a) To ensure you have a safe and enjoyable stay, guests shall be responsible for:

i) Taking reasonable care not to impair the enjoyment of the other guests staying at Somerset Court Cottages.

ii) Securing their accommodation when vacant.

iii) Vacating the accommodation by 10 am on the scheduled day of departure (except by arrangement);

iv) Ensuring that accommodation and its contents are kept and left in a clean and tidy condition. A charge may be made should the accommodation require significant remedial cleaning and any loss of use for subsequent guests.

v) Making settlement of costs associated with any damage to the accommodation and its contents, or their loss, arising during the period booked. Damages should be reported as they arise to enable repair or replacement as soon as possible.

vi) the loss of additional rental, either by the day or for the entire period of another guest’s booking which has been affected or has had to be cancelled due to the actions of any guest staying at a cottage.

b) No more than the maximum number of guests specified for that accommodation may stay at any one time.

c) Subletting of the accommodation in not permissible.

d) For your safety, smoking is not permitted within any part of the Accommodation. However, you are welcome to smoke outdoors.

10. Booking Acceptance:

a) Bookings of accommodation are accepted formally once payment has been received by Somerset Court Cottages Ltd and also the confirmation of the booking is received in writing by the guest.

b) Hence, please note that the Somerset Court Cottages On-line Reservation & Availability system on its website is not at present definitive of accommodation availability or its reservation.

11. Non-Availability:

In the unlikely event that the booked accommodation cannot be made available for the period booked, all sums paid will be refunded as full and final settlement.

12. Comments/Complaints:

a) Every reasonable care will be taken to ensure that the Accommodation is presented to guests to a high standard. Should the Guest find on arrival that there is a problem, or cause for complaint, the Guest should immediately contact reception. Reasonable steps will then be taken to assist the Guest.

b) Guest should provide a contact telephone number and suitable time for Somerset Court Cottages to communicate with them about problems or complaints.

c) Guests should confirm any unresolved complaint in writing to Somerset Court Cottages Ltd within 28 days of return from holiday, addressed to: Somerset Court Cottages, Somerset Court, Wick St Lawrence, Somerset, BS22 7YR.
